"Idyll" is a word used often in Norwegian to describe the feeling you get while being in an ideal and harmonic moment or place.
This series of photographs were all taken on short weekly trips home after moving abroad (2013 - present) and does not show the entirety of the diverse culture and nature in Norway. It does however reflect the feelings of nostalgia and idyll I feel when returning home. Composition and subject matter is inspired by the photographic work of my father, grandfather and great-grandfather along the works by authors Peter Christen Asbjørnsen, Jørgen Moe and artist Theodor Kittelsen.
Shot with Hasselblad 500 C/M.
